Service Description

Please come and join me as I guide us through a special 90-minute gentle, yoga class and meditation session. We’ll explore the themes and challenges we might face working our way back to yoga practice after injury or illness. This is a class for all abilities and you don’t have to be recovering from anything to enjoy and receive from the spirit of this class. To all the wonderful Yogis who were practicing with me earlier this year, you know I was forced to take an abrupt break from teaching due to a herniated disk. Aside from the physical pain, I had to confront the mental aspects of the injury that was keeping me from my beloved job as a yoga teacher, and favourite physical and spiritual practice. I was struggling with the idea of losing my identity, having patience, humility, fear, and acceptance. This is also common as we experience the natural processes of aging. What we are used to doing in our yoga practice before injury, illness or aging may no longer be accessible. How do we make peace with what we cannot stop or change? These challenges do not have to stop us from practicing yoga. This class will explore how those challenges can actually take us deeper in our practice of yoga. As always, please be safe and consult a doctor or physiotherapist before returning to any activity after injury.
